Highlands is a waterfront borough in northern Monmouth County with about 0.74 square miles of land, sitting on the southern edge of Sandy Hook Bay with the Shrewsbury River as its eastern boundary. It is its own borough, separate from neighboring Atlantic Highlands, and it also borders Middletown Township and Sea Bright. It was incorporated on March 22, 1900 out of Middletown Township and operates today as a Faulkner Act small municipality under a Borough Council. The eastern part of town rises into a high bluff that looks out over Sandy Hook, Sandy Hook Bay, and the Atlantic Ocean, with the Navesink Twin Lights at the top. The Central Business District generally follows the north and south sides of Bay Avenue. A+ covers Highlands, including Parkertown and Waterwitch.

Small as the borough is, the housing here is not one thing. The municipal Redevelopment Plan describes a range of residential unit sizes and types, roughly half of it single-family detached, with sizable shares of apartments and townhomes. There are waterfront streets near the bay and the river, hillside homes, and bayfront townhome and condominium communities. Not every home in Highlands sits on the water, and not every property is approached the same way. Do you install on hillside homes and townhomes in Highlands?

Yes. Highlands has waterfront streets near Sandy Hook Bay and the Shrewsbury River, hillside homes, and townhome and condominium communities, along with single-family detached houses that make up roughly half the borough's units per the municipal Redevelopment Plan. Homes here are not all one type and not all of them are on the water. We look at the property first, then design around your roofline, your dormers, and how we can safely reach them. For a townhome, a condominium, or a residence within a managed or gated community, please confirm that your association or community authorizes the installation before we schedule the work.

Does the price include taking the lights down?

Yes. Takedown after the season is included in every A+ package, including the $499 Express, and we store your lighting until next year. There is no separate removal charge and no boxes left in your garage.

What happens if a light goes out during the season?

In-season maintenance is included. If a bulb fails, a line pulls loose, or something stops working, call 732-889-5117 and we come out and fix it. That service is part of the package price, not an add-on.
